My life | Family portrait

One thing that is very close to my hart is my family.  We recently took this family portrait of my brother-in-law Johan, Monya my sister, Danru my little nephew, my dad, my mom and myself.  These portraits are family treasures that will last for ages and our grand-grand children will still look at these and know where they coming from..  I though I would like to share this because it is so special to me.. :-) 

Behind the scenes | SABC Summer Promo Shoot

I had the privilege to shoot the behind the scenes images for the SABC2 summer campaign.  It is so interesting and nice to see all the input that goes into a television shoot like this and really enjoyed the provisional and creative approach of the production company, Lucky Bean Media. The shoot took place at Power Park in Soweto.  Be on the lookout for the promo on SABC2 during the coming month..



We had some spectators at the shoot as well.. Some Soweto kids were walking in the streets and found all the activity very interesting..  Just love their facial expressions ! :-)

Engagement | Louis & Anita

The moment you meet Louis and Anita you realise, these two people are so meant for each other. I've known Louis since we were 5 years old and when he met Anita I just knew this is his future wife..  They recently got engaged and we did an engagement shoot for them at the Johannesburg Botanical gardens. These two were so natural and easy to photograph. What a surprise we got when we arrived and the trees were covered in blossoms!!  It made such nice images and symbolises Louis and Anita's love for me so well.. Love in bloom.   

 

My life | Kalahari

Last week I was on vacation with some friends.  We visited the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the Augrabies National Park.  This was the first time I visited the Kalahari and I was so amazed by the beautiful landscapes.  Here is a quick story board I made to sum up our experience in a nut shell.  I want to thank Francois & Alma, Hans & Henda and Rudi & Colette for an unforgettable holiday!  We had so much fun together!

Father and Son | Johan & Danru

Little Danru (my adorable newphew! See previous post I've done on him here) turned 1 in July and I can't believe how quickly this year went by. Sunday afternoon Johan (my brother in law) and Danru spent some time outside after the long cold winter.  It was so beautiful to capture this loving relationship between a father and his little boy.  Danru started to walk a few weeks ago and was so adorable to see him balancing his little body on those cute baby feet.  Have a blessed week everyone !

Engagement | Jaco & Zanandi

When I met with Jaco and Zanandi I could immediately see that these two are meant for each other.  They have such a touchable chemistry between them and I could see that they know each other very well.  I can't wait to photograph their wedding in November !  We had a wonderful engagement shoot at Linga Longa (their wedding venue).  When we started they were a bit shy, but as we warmed up all the pictures came naturally.  And that is exactly how I love photos, to be natural and bring out people's personality and feelings for each other.  Photos that tells an interesting story about people's life..
