Inspiration | Surrender to God

At the moment I'm busy reading a book that is written by John Ortberg.  The book's name is "The Me I want to be".  On the cover of the book is also says "becoming God's best version of you".  The book is al about finding out what God made you to do in life.  Finding your talents and do what God intendend for your life.  What I really like about this book, is that it really helps you with "life" and is very practical and talks to the every day person and help you to grow spiritually in Jesus.
One particular chapter in this book, is about surrender.  And there is another quote from John Ortberg in this chapter that I would like to share : "I work the best I can, but I am not in control of the results."  God is in control of all the results in the universe !  The moment I realised that, I stoped trying to "control" everything in my life.  It can be SO exshausting to try and control.. and I know there are many control freaks out there !   You can put yourself out there, you can take a risk, you can work the best you can, that is what God expects of us.  But He is in control of the outcome and of the results..

My prayer for today with John Ortberg is : " Jesus, My Lord and Heavenly Father,  I won't try to figure out the rest of my life. I won't try to solve every day. Just today. You lead. I'll follow.. " Amen

New born Baby | Tabitha

When I photographed little Tabitha she was only  6 days old.   Last week I went back to take pictures of how she looks like now - 1 month old. (blog post to come up later)  It is just so amazing how quickly they change and grow up.  This little girl was very curious and she was almost awake on all the photos!  Normally with such small babies they will just fall asleep during the shoot.  But not this little one! :-)  But no complains, normally we try to get more shots with their eyes open.  Congratulations Jandre & Marileen, your girl is precious!

Baby | Little Romé 4 months

Little Romé has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen.  When she looks at you with those cute little eyes, it feels like she is looking right through you and you just melt.. This little girl already has a very playful spirit!  It doesn't take a lot to get her to smile.  O and those cheeks !!  Isn't that just the most adorable !   And is she not wearing the cutest outfit !  Very fashionable I think.. :-)

Baby | Owen's Christening

Little Owen is just the sweetest baby. He is only one month old and already one can see that this is a tough little guy!  :-)  When he was born there were some complications with him and he was hospitalised only a few days after. The doctors advised that he possibly need surgery, but they first needed to run some tests. A lot of prayers were prayed for little Owen, and God answered.  He didn't need the surgery!  He was healed!  A miracle happened!  Praise the Lord.

He was so easy to photograph and I just loved all the expressions on his cute face.  To his parents, Bernard & Gernine, I hope he brings you all the joy in the world.  He is so special..

On my recent trip to the Kruger National Park, I took this picture of waterbuck during sunset.  The light was golden !  Just the way any photographer likes it.. :-)
I would like to share this image with a verse from the Bible that inspired me today.  At the moment I'm reading a book written by John Ortberg - "If you want to walk on water, you have to get out of the boat"  The book is about to hear from God your calling and do in life what God made YOU to do.  And I read this verse in Ecclesiastes this morning and it just all came together !  "Our God is an awesome God ! "

I've recently been on a trip to Botswana.  We spent a couple of days at Wild at Tuli and it has been fantastic!  Wild at Tuli is in the Tuli block in Botswana. The Tuli block has a "no fence" policy so animals can walk around freely, so you never know what to expect when you visit.  On our last day out we came across this eagle that was hunting for something to eat.  It was amazing to observe how this bird was hanging from a tree to make a catch of what ever was in that tree trunk.

While I was editing these photos it made me think a little..  I thought of the eagle as an "evil force" that tries to catch and swallow you and me.  Lets assume a little squirrel was hiding inside the tree (I don't know what it was, because the eagle did not manage to catch what ever was inside the tree).  The squirrel represents you and me.  We should build our "spiritual houses" strongly and in relation with God's plan for us so we can be out of reach of the eagles.  The eagles will try to reach us, but we should know that God protects us and helps us every day to over come the evil force.  And eventually (like in the last picture of this blog post) the eagle will fly away !  Have a blessed week.
